Odyssey TriHot 5K Golf Putters

Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Golf Putters

Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Golf Putters revolutionize putting performance with multi-material front loaded tungsten weighting that improves CG positioning while increasing inertia. The end result is a blade putter unlike anything else available.

Odyssey set out to create a blade putter that could outperform a mallet in an iconic shape beloved by Tour players. They achieved this by pushing the center of gravity (CG) forward and using new materials like stainless steel, tungsten and 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum.

1. Forgiveness

Tri-Hot 5K putters are designed to enhance performance by reducing side spin on off-center hits. They achieve this by employing a 303 stainless steel front section milled precisely for shape and weight, helping keep the center of gravity (CG) forward so putts land closer to their original target line with tighter dispersion and an increased chance for success even on less than perfect strikes.

These putters boast a moment of inertia level above 5,000 grams-centimeters squared, giving them the title of most forgiving blade putter. Furthermore, they were designed with a tungsten insert that has more than 120 grams behind the face in both heel and toe areas to improve roll while increasing inertia.

Odyssey putters offer several models to accommodate various stroke types and preferences. The One and Two are Anser-style putters with rounded bumpers, while the Three is a heel-toe weighted blade with an extended flow neck for those seeking more toe hang.

All models come with interchangeable weights that allow you to customize the head weight according to your preference. Choose between aluminum, steel and tungsten weights which each weigh grams and are sold separately.

In addition to its 5K name, this putter also stands out with its smoke finish. This design helps reduce glare and offers a sleek middle of the putter face for golfers with a hunch in their stroke. Furthermore, it makes for an eye-catching putter that will surely get noticed on the course.

2. Stability

Last year, Odyssey unveiled their Tri-Hot 5K line with a mission to dispel the myth that blade putters cannot be as forgiving or stable as mallets. To do this, they utilized heavy tungsten and steel in combination with lightweight aluminum in these blades to increase their moment-of-inertia (MOI) above 5,000 grams per squared.

The result was an improved putting stroke. They claim that front loaded tungsten mass and a forward center of gravity reduced side spin on off-center hits, making it simpler to rotate the face to square it at impact.

In addition to their patented technology, the new Tri-Hot 5K putters feature variable head weights in aluminium, steel and tungsten for customized feel and performance. Plus, they boast the original White Hot insert that golfers have come to know and love so you can expect soft, consistent feel along with muted sound on every putt you make.

This line features five models with varying shapes, sizes and alignment lines. They include the One with a classic heel-toe weighted shape, Two with rounded bumpers and thinner topline, Three with curved back flange and Four featuring plumber's neck hosel.

Each putter features a silver Odyssey swirl logo on the heel and "Tri-Hot 5K" written across the face for an ultramodern aesthetic. While these putters may look futuristic, Odyssey did an excellent job balancing all technical components with moderate branding.

This year, Odyssey is expanding their Tri-Hot 5K line to include several popular mallet putters. The #7 winged mallet and Rossie both received this treatment along with two popular blade models in the line; Double Wide and Triple Wide both gained new neck options so more mallet players can enjoy the advantages of the Tri-Hot 5K lineup.

3. Feel

Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K putters are a go-to choice for golfers due to their soft, consistent feel and muted sound - not as loud or high-pitched as mallets, but still easily recognized and enjoyed.

Blade putters typically have a slightly rounded feel, but with the added advantage of rotating and squareing the face after impact. This provides better speed control and consistency in putting, even when your ball isn't directly in line with center of face.

For those who enjoy playing blade putters but still prefer a mallet feel, this feature can be ideal. The forward center of gravity helps reduce side spin on off-center hits and promotes speed consistency, lower backspin, and tighter dispersion to limit off-target distance.

Tri-Hot 5K putters feature a 303 stainless steel front section milled, shaped, and CG moved forward to reduce side spin on off-center hits. Furthermore, over 120 grams of tungsten weight is placed behind the face in both heel and toe sections to increase MOI (Moment of Inertia) to more than 5,000 IZZ.

Odyssey has added their iconic White Hot insert to further enhance the feel of their putters. This timeless classic brings back its signature sound and performance for golfers everywhere.

Tri-Hot 5K family features five models: One, Two, Three, Double Wide and Triple Wide. The One and Two feature an Anser-style heel-toe weighted blade with rounded bumpers; while the Three features a square back bumper as well as a thinner topline with an arched neck hosel for players who like more toe hang on their putts.

4. Sound

The Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Golf Putters feature a multi-material construction to improve performance in the front section. A 303 stainless steel front section was machined to exact shape and weight, keeping the center of gravity (CG) forward for tighter dispersion and increased chances of making putts with less-than-perfect strikes.

Tri-Hot 5K line comprises five models, from the One traditional Anser putter with rounded bumpers to the Three heel-toe weighted blade with a flow neck for those seeking maximum toe hang. There are even some mallets in there with Seven and Rossie models; although not a huge improvement from last year's offerings, still worth keeping an eye out for.

The Tri-Hot 5K's standout feature is its design. Each model boasts an array of technical components, from the Stroke Lab shaft to a multi-material front loaded tungsten weighting system - something we've never seen in an Odyssey product before and one that will surely become a staple in any putter's bag.

The most noticeable feature is the tri-material tee box, featuring aluminum, steel and tungsten in an intuitive combination. Odyssey also allows for customization with removable weights in each model - available in aluminum, steel or tungsten measurements from a few grams each. When choosing your new putting stick, remember to consider not only these important details but also how the club looks and feels overall.

5. Performance

Last year, Odyssey unveiled their Tri-Hot 5K putter line with the aim of revolutionizing blade performance by shifting the center of gravity forward. By using heavy tungsten, light aluminum and steel weights, they created a blade with over 5,000 MOI and forgiveness comparable to that of a mallet.

They took advantage of this by designing a putter that can reduce side spin on off-center hits while remaining highly stable for consistent distance and direction. To do so, they loaded the club head with massive amounts of tungsten weight behind both the toe and heel areas, moving the center of gravity forward, decreasing backspin, and eliminating face rotation that often occurs with high MOI blade putters.

These putters set an ambitious goal, yet it was achieved. Their forward center of gravity makes it easier to square the putter at impact due to its extreme perimeter weighting that produces an inertia level exceeding 5000 IZZ, providing better speed control, spin control, consistency when hitting off-center hits and tighter dispersion downrange for greater consistency.

To further enhance performance, the Tri-Hot 5K series boasts a multi-material construction. This means stainless steel, tungsten and 6061 aircraft grade aluminum have been utilized in multiple locations - giving them an unmatched inertia level within their blade category.

The Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K comes in five models: One, Two, Three and Double Wide. The One features traditional Anser style blade with rounded bumpers and a single white alignment line; while the Two features angular back bumpers and is shorter than its counterpart; both feature crank neck hosels for players who prefer more toe hang. The Three offers even greater comfort through its flow neck design.
