TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast Golf Putters

TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast Golf Putters

The new TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast putters offer a premium look and feel that is unmatched in the industry. Each putter in the TP Hydro Blast collection is milled from soft yet durable 303 stainless steel that provides a premium feel and superior aesthetics at address and in the hands of the player.

303 Stainless Steel

The 303 stainless steel finish is used on TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast Golf Putters to deliver a premium look that compliments the putter's classic aesthetic. Originally introduced with Spider X, this finish is created by applying a high-pressure stream of water to the 303 stainless steel to produce a smooth and durable surface.

304 stainless steel is one of the most popular choices for premium putter construction and it offers a superior feel with incredible durability. Stainless steel also provides a stylish and elegant finish that looks great when down by the ball or in your bag.

Grade 304 stainless steel is an austenitic alloy that contains at least 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel. It is a free-machining grade that has a small addition of sulfur to increase its machinability, although the sulfur does reduce corrosion resistance slightly.

This grade is commonly used in applications that require machining. Stainless steel is available in many product forms and grades, so manufacturers have a lot of options to choose from when choosing the best material for their application.

The 303 grade is an austenitic stainless steel that has a minimum of 17% Chromium and 8% Nickel. It can be machined at about 75% of the speed of carbon C1212.

In addition to its machinability, 303 stainless steel has desirable non-galling properties that make disassembly and cleaning easy. The metal is resistant to oxidation and has a good tensile strength.

303 stainless steel is used in a variety of industrial applications where a non-magnetic, highly corrosion resistant material is required. It is often paired with stainless steel alloys for added strength and durability.

For example, in oil and gas operations, the 303 alloy is often combined with carbon or other stainless steel alloys for better corrosion resistance. It is used in a range of applications, from piping and fittings to valves and instrumentation.

The 303 finish on TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast putters gives them a premium and cohesive appearance that helps them stand out in the crowd. The finish on these putters is a combination of smooth lines and clean geometric curvatures, which combine to create a strikingly beautiful and sleek look that fits the premium design of these clubs.

White PureRollTM Face Insert

The white Pure RollTM face insert on TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast Golf Putters encourages the ball to roll quickly off the face instead of skidding and bouncing. Designed for use on the company's Spider X and TP Collection of blades and technical mallets, the insert features grooves that point downward at a 45-degree angle to optimize roll characteristics.

The TP Collection offers a range of head shapes and hosels to suit every style of player. The #1 and #2WS putters are available in a blade style, while the 2-Ball, #5 and #7 head shapes are also offered in a mallet style.

These putters are cast first in 303 stainless steel and then surface milled into their final geometries. The surface milling process ensures the putter heads meet tolerances for shape and adds some aesthetic elements that would not be possible with purely cast putters.

Another benefit of this surface-milling process is that the resulting putters cost less than completely milled constructions. In fact, the TP Hydro Blast putters have a MSRP of $250.

While the Pure Roll face insert on the TP Hydro Blast collection does not have as much weight in the heel and toe as other inserts on other TaylorMade putters, it still manages to deliver consistent performance. The putters also feature a high-performance Stroke Lab shaft that stimulates a better stroke tempo and a stock Super Stroke Pistol GTR 1.0 grip.

Lastly, the putters have a stout blade design that generates 29deg of toe hang. This is ideal for players who create moderate face rotation during the putting stroke.

All of these putters have a forged aluminium crown and a carbon composite centre section to increase stability and MOI for a solid feel throughout the putting stroke. A choice of different GT head shapes and hosels are also available to suit your swing style.

All of the TP Hydro Blast putters are offered in a variety of different blade styles, including the HB Soft #4 and Huntington Beach Soft 14. They all come with a silver PVD finish and an impressive two-part urethane insert that hasn't changed in over 20 years. This insert was developed from the same material Callaway uses in its Rule 35 golf balls, which means it offers a firm performance with a soft feel.

Adjustable Heel-Toe Sole Weights

A good putting putter should have adjustable heel-toe sole weights to help golfers customize performance and feel. Adjustable weights can be particularly useful for players who have a heavy or light stroke. For example, if you often miss left, moving more weight into the toe can counteract that tendency and help you hit straighter. Alternatively, if you tend to mis-hits on the right, adding more weight into the heel can make that happen less often.

TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast putters come with adjustable heel-toe sole weights that are easy to change and allow you to tailor your putter for a particular stroke type. The adjustable weights are also positioned in different positions on the club to give golfers more control over how their stroke is shaped.

The adjustable weights are positioned in the heel and toe of each putter, and can be changed from 2.5 grams to 20 grams. They are designed to optimize perimeter weighting for increased stability, and a 25g Aged Copper Pure Roll Insert is used in the head of each putter to add additional forward CG performance benefits.

This insert features grooves situated at a downward 45deg angle to optimize roll characteristics and increase topspin for better ball speed and more consistent results. It’s the same insert that has helped propel TaylorMade Spider X to more than a dozen Tour victories since 2019.

Each of the seven putters in the TP Hydro Blast line have cast 303 stainless steel heads, and each has been surface milled into its final shape. This process can be more cost-effective than machining the metal entirely, and it also allows for a greater degree of accuracy in the head shapes.

Another key element to the TP Hydro Blast line is the Hydro Blast finish, which is achieved by applying a high-pressure stream of water to 303 stainless steel. TaylorMade says this gives the putters a smooth, premium and cohesive look that’s akin to what you’d expect from an artisanally finished piece of gear.

The TP Hydro Blast line includes four mallet putters and one face-balanced blade. All are designed to address different stroke types, with three head shapes and two neck options available.

Hydro Blast Finish

The TP Hydro Blast Collection includes seven unique putters that blend classic looks with several TaylorMade technologies to produce a new class of premium putters. All of the putters feature a Hydro Blast finish that is applied with a high-pressure stream of water to 303 stainless steel to create a smooth, shiny silver surface.

All of the TP Hydro Blast putters come with a stepped steel shaft and a Lamkin Sink Fit Skinny pistol grip. The shafts and grips are available in navy or white, while the sole weights are unique to each stock length (33'', 34'' and 35'').

These putters also include a White PureRollTM face insert that is made from soft Surlyn material. It features grooves set at a 45deg downward angle to optimize roll consistency and increase topspin.

The PureRoll insert is the same one found in TaylorMade’s Spider X line, which has tallied 11 Tour wins in the last two seasons. The insert was designed with the softer Surlyn material to offer an improved feel and better sound while the 45deg grooves will help produce more consistent roll and help your putt start and stay on the right line.

TaylorMade also used True Path Alignment on all of the TP Hydro Blast putters, which is optically engineered to make it easier for golfers to aim their putts. It debuted on the Spider X putter, which has helped players like Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson make more accurate putts.

In addition to the aforementioned technologies, the TP Hydro Blast putters also feature adjustable heel-toe sole weights that can be adjusted from 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15 and 20 grams to help players find their sweet spot. The putters also have a TP White PureRollTM face insert that is similar to the one in the Spider X line.

The TP Hydro Blast putters are designed with a classic blade shape to inspire confidence and deliver exceptional feel on every putt. They also include multiple hosel options that are designed for various stroke types. These hosel options are available in the Del Monte 7, Soto and Chaska models, as well as the double-wing Bandon mallet.
